The Paul Knobloch Story

Born in Canberra Paul studied dance from a young age through to his teens with us at The Canberra Dance Development Centre until in 1994 he auditioned for and joined The Australian Ballet School.

During his studies he was awarded The GIO Australian Ballet Scholarship, The Pamela and Alfred Ruskin Scholarship, The Friends of The Australian Ballet Scholarship, The Lady Mollie Askin Ballet Travelling Scholarship, The Martin Bequest Travelling Scholarship and in 2001 The ACT Young Australian of The Year.
In 1996 Paul graduated from The Australian Ballet School and joined The West Australian Ballet the following year. In 1998 he joined the English National Ballet and in 2002 joined The Australian Ballet.

Paul has featured in many ballets including, the role of Puck in A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Prince in The Nutcracker Pas de Deux, Paris in Romeo and Juliet, and the Act 3 Pas de Quatre in Raymonda.
Paul has toured Europe extensively working with some of the worlds greatest ballet companies and most influential dance masters.
In 2003, Paul enjoyed performing leading roles in Meryl Tankard’s Wild Swans, Stanton Welch’s Velocity and Andre Prokovosky’s The Three Musketeers.

He is currently dancing with Bejart Ballet Lausanne
